About Exercise Safety
Dana Gore completed the curriculum at Fitness Institute International, Inc. as an outstanding graduate in 2009.
Going through the courses opened Dana’s eyes up to the fact that while there was an abundance of health and fitness information out there, very few took safety into account.
After graduation, she started writing about topics regarding weight loss and healthy living. She soon went on to have her own “Fitness Tips” column in one of the local newspapers and became a contributing writer for Nothing But Good News Magazine.

When it was time to follow a childhood dream of writing a book, Dana began composing “A Simple Guide to Exercise Safety”.
What was originally slated to be a book about weight loss and healthy living changed course once she realized that there was nothing on the market discussing exercise safety, which in the beginning was only meant to be a chapter of the original book.
After having heard Dr. Anthony Abbott, MS, MSW, EdD (the president and chief instructor of Fitness Institute) discuss several of the commonly overlooked aspects to exercise safety awareness that has led to preventable and unnecessary injury (sometimes resulting in death) of individuals seeking to improve the quality of their lives through health and fitness, she decided it was time to bring this awareness to the public.
Since the book’s completion and subsequent publication, Dana has written several articles about exercise safety on various websites including Sparkpeople.com and Natural News Blogs and has discussed the topic at length in radio shows and interviews.
She has received an “Award of Merit” for her efforts to educate the public about unsafe exercise practices.
Dana aims to bring guidance to the public about how to achieve optimal health in a safe and structured manner. She believes that the body follows the guidance and instruction of the mind and spirit. She inspires her readers to seek inner peace as a means to well-being in all areas of life.

“I just finished reading a great book: A Simple Guide to Exercise Safety – What you don’t know CAN Hurt you by Dana Gore. It was a real eye-opener for me, since I am a fitness enthusiast. One of the things that I enjoyed the most about the book is that author Dana Gore really made the reader think about how exercise affects the body as a whole. Initially, I thought this was going to be just another book on exercise tips, but I was pleasantly surprised by how the author’s easy to read style captivated my attention so much that I could not put the book down.

Fabulous Book on an Unspoken Problem
“I’ve always shied away from exercising because the few experiences I’ve had in a gym would turn anyone away. Each trainer would tell me I’m doing the exercise wrong even after being told how to do it correctly. Then I’ve had friends who have injured themselves after doing what they were taught as well.
