Most people start a blog because they hope it will grow into a successful online business; successful enough to replace a full-time job. I know it was a goal for me!
Blogging can become a great source of income. #blogging #passiveincomeClick To TweetYou can partner up with brands and get paid for writing content about their products. You can become affiliates to write about your favorite products and services. And then there’s Google Adsense where you can earn money when visitors click on ads displayed on your website.
But making money with your blog is not limited to paid content and Google Adsense. Oh no, no, no!
Your blogging journey will have many twists and turns. You will discover traits you might not know you had like perseverance during tough times and pick up a new skill like learning how to customize websites.
And even though you had no blogging experience when you first started, you can evolve into one of the best writers out there.
All of that experience can open the doors for passive income. In this post, I’m going to give you three passive income stream possibilities when you start a blog.
Let’s go!
3 Ways Blogging Can Open The Door To Passive Income
How Blogging Can Create Passive Income
If there is anything I’ve learned about blogging in the past nine-and-a-half years it’s that there is no limit to what you can do to start making a passive income as a blogger.
Here are three ways blogging can open the passive income flood gates.
#1 Turn Your Blog Posts Into eBooks
Writing eBooks is probably the most common strategy for bloggers who are making a passive income. #ebooks #passiveincomeClick To TweetYou’re probably wondering where you’re going to find the time to sit down and write an eBook. Well, if you’ve got tons of content on your blog, you’re halfway there!
Here’s how to put an eBook together with your blog posts:
First, do some research. Select a topic for the eBook and what content you want to use. The easiest way to figure that out is to filter your blog posts by category. The category with the most blog posts wins!
Sort blog posts into subcategories like blog traffic, blogging tools, etc. These can become eBook chapters.
Put them all together, update the content if it needs it and bam, you have yourself an eBook!
#2 Teach Others What You’ve Learned By Creating Online Courses
Online courses is another type of passive income. Many successful bloggers go on to create online courses to teach others what they did to reach success.
For example, you can create an online course to show new bloggers how to grow a blog, make money blogging, or how to create quality content.
#3 – Create Products Or Services With The Blogging Skills You Pick Up
Other bloggers who pick up a new skill teach other bloggers what they’ve learned.
Let’s say you learned how to create stylish fonts using free tools. You can create an online course to show other bloggers how to create their own fonts.
Some bloggers go on to create digital products like printables and if you’ve ever been on Etsy, you’ll know printables are a big deal right now!
Here are more examples of passive income:
- Create apps
- Design websites
- Sell stock photography

Hey Sweety (love your name),
Thanks for checking out Cori’s post and sharing your thoughts.
Blogging definitely takes time and it isn’t easy for everyone (although it’s easier for those who blog a lot, learn a lot, and practice often).
Cori shared some useful tips and ideas that anyone, even beginners can get involved with. Always happy to share her content and her work anywhere I can.
Glad you stopped by and welcome to the blog 🙂

Well, since I saw my name on this post I guess I had to comment. lol Thanks Lisa; as always, I appreciate the mention.
My 2nd book on leadership combined some of my articles from a newsletter I wrote for 10 years and some of my early blog posts on the same subject. It’s more of an ebook now than a regular book in that right now I’m only selling it in pdf form, whereas I actually printed 300 copies of my first book. Blogging definitely helped in that regard. I wouldn’t mind if it helped a bit more. 🙂

Hey Mitch,
So cool that you created your books. Blogging definitely helps for content creation, marketing, and building those relationships.
And as far as Lisa mentioning you, I agree. It’s been a pleasure connecting with so many of you. I have blogging to thank for that.
Hope you’re doing well, Mitch 🙂

Hi Cori, I love how blogging has those twists and turns over the years. I never imagined what I’d be doing now, well sort of. I always wanted to get out of corporate America and so glad I did over 2 years now 🙂
Not only that but blogging helped me in so many ways to grow both professionally and personally. And the wonderful people like you, Dana, Donna, Ryan, Brenda, Mayura, Ileane, Mitch, and remember Adrienne? I could go on and on!
It certainly is a journey with many ways to make money as well! I especially like the methods while you sleep – I need more of those 🙂
