My new book, “Streetwise Philosophy (A Bullshit-Free Approach to Spiritual Maturity)” is published.
And I’m soooo excited!
Of course, it’s wonderful to have a brand new book out there, and I’m grateful for the kind words and well wishes that have accompanied my book’s announcement.
In addition to all of that, though, what I feel is a deep sense of gratitude over the fact that what’s in the book is out there now, and able to reach people.
So with all the information out there vying for your attention, why might you want to give some of that to what I have to say?
The reason is simple. I’ll tell you why.
Because the subject matter pertains to you, your loved ones, your children and the future of humanity.
Streetwise Philosophy (My New Book)
The truth is folks, times are tough and we all know it.
But as we look for ways to navigate through world chaos, the answers are within each of us.
I feel we’ve approached a time where we have an opportunity to truly transform things. But this will have to start with ourselves. Everything we see in the world exists because of one simple truth.
As within, so without.
Sure, there are people at “the top” who have manipulated things to such a degree that we’ve built a society/ world that has rendered us dependent on systems that are detrimental, destructive, and dangerous to our survival. But as long as we remain ignorant of the true cause of the predicament we’re in, we’ll remain helpless to their effects.
There’s a lot of momentum behind what’s going on. I don’t feel we’ll be able to stop it in its tracks, but I do feel we can examine ways to find solutions that can and will enable us to develop more realistic, independent and far more beneficial ways of life that will truly lead to freedom.
See, we’re seeing systems crumble because it’s time for us to wake up. In order for us to do this, though, things have to become extremely uncomfortable.
We need to see the type of world we’re living in so we can witness how we’re living our lives in ways that are not only unsustainable, but unbalanced.
We, as a whole, usually don’t make changes until things have gotten so uncomfortable – so downright painful that it forces us to seek relief. But in this case, with the all-encompassing issues we face, there is no quick fix.
There is only seeing things as they are, seeing ourselves for who and how we are and allowing genuine insight and inspiration to encourage us to connect with our true nature.
When this happens, we stand to direct ourselves and influence others from a place of real Intelligence.
So how does self-awareness fit in?
When you are able to see, clearly, how YOU operate…
How you think, interpret things and react to your thoughts, you gain an understanding of what you put out into the world.
Humans, for the most part, are walking emotional reactions to themselves. We truly have no idea how we affect others because we’re usually so caught up in our own feelings and personal lives that we don’t see beyond ourselves.
But everything that takes place in the world happens through our consent and participation.
~ Do you feel society has our best interests at heart when we’re the recipients of unrealistic and unhealthy body image suggestions?
~ Do you think it’s cool that so many of us spend more than we make to keep up with appearances?
~ How do you feel about having a job you hate so you can barely afford to live?
~ Do you think our political system actually leads us to a place of genuine well-being?
Now some of you may not see it, but everything that happens does so because we allow it.
We have to be able to see what we buy into in order to see how things develop. How our attention is held and our thoughts and beliefs are manipulated is how our lives are shaped.
Those who are in control are few as compared to the rest of us. It’s just that we’ve been easy to fool because we believe the lies we’re told throughout our lives. But once we wake up from this, and only by being brave enough to do so will we have a chance of implementing genuine solutions based on the well-being of all.
What Streetwise Philosophy is about
Streetwise Philosophy is a bullshit-free approach to spiritual maturity.
It’s a series of thoughts about the world in which we live. This includes thoughts about us – how we perceive things, how we navigate our internal world which ultimately creates the environment as we know it.
Spiritual maturity requires mental/psychological and emotional maturity. None of these internal faculties work separately from one another. For a genuine transformation to occur, it requires harmony of all of these aspects within ourselves.
When we truly awaken to what’s inside of us, we have tools available to help us to see clearly. And then we are in a position to act more like the great sages and wise beings who have walked the world with us because we understand and implement what they were trying to teach us.
The manipulation of the human condition has occurred for a very long time. It goes so far back that none of us know its origins.
But that doesn’t mean we’ll never have what it takes to transcend our limited state of consciousness. It just means we have to be willing to face things and ourselves with such courage that we are no longer afraid of anything other than the idea of being fooled again.
Which won’t happen to a truly awakened population.
It’s time to free ourselves. That will be a strange and painful time, but it’s the only path to freedom.
And Streetwise Philosophy will help explain what we do, how we’ve been and what we’re experiencing.
It’s time to wake up.
Our planet is heading in a dangerous direction and the time has come for us, collectively, to become more aware of the predicaments we face and to do something about them.
We are living amid chaos. We all see it and many are searching for answers to fight against it, but what if our approach is all wrong?
Streetwise Philosophy (a bullshit-free approach to spiritual maturity) aims to help you to do that. To see a way through the fog of disorder and to learn from past mistakes.
Inside the pages of this insightful read, you will find perceptions about a variety of inter-related topics, including;
In a society filled with corruption and confusion, what we need is transparency. The answers are within each of us, but in order to gain access to the inherent wisdom that we all possess we need to wake up from the brainwashing we have been subjected to.
Only self-awareness, personal responsibility and the ability and willingness to venture beyond appearances will make the difference. It really is time to wake up and Streetwise Philosophy will help you take the first steps.
Where to get your copy
Streetwise Philosophy is available in both ebook and paperback formats. You can get it at Amazon, Barnes and Noble.com and eventually, other online book retailers.
It’s a slow read, and it’s the type of book that you can easily go back to and reread certain passages at any time. There is no specific direction in which to follow. Open the book on any page or in any chapter and you can gain something valuable out of it.
Every thought, insight and philosophical perspective in this book came from my observations, my gut, and my heart. And if you’ve been following my work for any length of time, you’ll know that these are all original thoughts, as I don’t follow any specific teaching or guru (even if I do appreciate a few out there).
I hope you get something valuable out of Streetwise Philosophy. I sure got a lot out of writing it.
