Hi Dana, oh my, there is so much to learn when starting and running a business today. I’m constantly learning something new every day. I’ve gotten better with my time management but the technical skills keep changing daily. It’s a never-ending learning curve but it surely can be done if you are passionate about your business. There are so many courses online one can take to learn many of them from the comfort of your own home.

Hey Lisa,
You are so right about the technical stuff being challenging and that it changes so often. But, as you point out, we can learn so many skills online from the comfort of our homes and I love that this is possible.
Time management is so important – and something I also continue to work on as well.
I love the content you create, Lisa, and I think you’ve been a constant inspiration to people like me and so many others.
Thanks for your comment and I wish you a fantastic day 🙂

Interesting stuff Dana. I don’t disagree with any of those things you mentioned, but I think there are two major skills a person has to have if they’re going into business for themselves: marketing and courage.
Over my 20 years I’ve had a few major ups and way more downs, but courage is the thing that’s helped keep me going through all the bad times. The thing that’s helped more than anything else is learning something about marketing. Learning how to sell is important as well, but you can’t try selling anything until you can find people to sell to, and that comes with marketing, since you’re never going to make a sale with every person you reach.
I got lucky on the technology front. For what I mainly do, my clients had little knowledge about a lot of technology, so I didn’t have to apply myself to learning almost any of it. The only thing I wish I’d learned better, and still wish I had, is Access; ugh! lol

Hey Mitch,
Yes, courage and marketing skills are so important. Both are things I constantly need to work on.
I’m glad to see that you’ve continued with your work even through the tough times. I always find that inspiring.
It’s good that you know about technology. It’s challenging to learn and always changing. Your clients are lucky to have you to help them with this.
Thanks for stopping by, Mitch and I hope life is treating you well 🙂
