This month’s Study the Solopreneur guest and I go back a long way. Jeff Segal, BS, NSCA-CPT, CSCS, CPTS is a personal trainer, motivational speaker and just a super cool guy.
Jeff and I met many years ago at Fitness Institute International, Inc. School for Personal Training. My husband and I were enrolled in the Special Populations/Post Rehabilitation Specialist Course and Jeff was the guest instructor for the class on Multiple Sclerosis.
I thought Jeff’s teaching style was engaging, personable and he was easy to understand. I’ve since watched his videos on Youtube where he speaks to people living with MS and I have to say, he’s funny, entertaining and inspiring.
I’ll get into Jeff’s story and, of course, share his contact info, along with our discussion below. If you or someone you know lives with MS, this is something you won’t want to miss.
Study The Solopreneur – Balanced Personal Training with Jeff Segal
Jeff has always held a positive view on life. When he was first diagnosed with MS, instead of feeling depressed and defeated, he was actually happy and relieved it wasn’t a brain tumor.
It turns out Jeff always meant to go into the health and fitness industry. He earned a BS in Exercise Science and eventually went on to earn his Certified Personal Training Specialist Certification (CPTS) at Fitness Institute International.
In addition, Jeff holds a CSCS with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and received the “Personal Trainer of the Year” award from both the NSCA and Fitness Institute.
While Jeff has spent years working with people one on one helping them to stay healthy and active with MS, he is also a motivational public speaker. Jeff travels the country giving inspiring, informative, demonstrative and funny speeches to people who have found him invaluable.
Being A Solopreneur
Jeff works for himself. He doesn’t own a gym or fitness center.
He has taken his career in the direction of his truth. He loves what he's doing because it's what's inside of him. #liveyourtruthClick To TweetHis dedication to his career is obvious in the way his audience responds to his talks and the value he’s contributed to the fitness industry.
Jeff mentioned that when it comes to client referrals, physicians have been a huge source of support. If a medical professional is willing to send their patients your way (especially in an unregulated field), it says a lot.
As someone who knows him personally and who has been a student of his (even if just for a day), the fact that Jeff endorsed my exercise safety book and mentions it in his talks is probably one of the biggest compliments I’ve received.

Jeff feels like an inspiring dude Dana. He empowers through his life story. I love it. I went for my personal training cert eons ago LOL. Took a different direction with blogging but goodness I loved hitting the gym.

Hey Ryan,
Yes, he’s definitely inspiring & knows his stuff too. He’s helped so many people in the MS community – and his own story is quite motivating.
I know you’re passionate about health & fitness – and even though you went in a different direction, it’s obvious it still plays a role in your life (and your success as well).
Glad you stopped by & thanks for your comment 🙂
